In the Peak District National Park, Bradfield offers easy access to, from and around both the National Park and the City of Sheffield.
Bradfield is a quintessential English village where people enjoy the quietness of rural life. Village life is mainly centred in Low Bradfield, with it’s picture postcard village shop, post office and café providing a friendly welcome to everyone. The ‘School Rooms’ café, bistro and farm shop sells lots of local produce and also offers a nice place for a cup of tea, especially in the summer when families can sit outside. Ibbotson’s Field in the heart of the village, is a focal point where visitor's choose to relax with an ice cream and watch the cricket. There is also tennis and bowls too. Younger Children enjoy the village play area but a favourite past time is to feed the ducks at the beautiful picnic spot by the river.
Bradfield Village Hall hosts a variety of activities including regular farmers markets and film nights. This new purpose-built facility offers a fabulous venue for private parties, weddings, birthdays and family gatherings. Cotton Star Camping is the perfect location to offer accommodation for your guests.
A short but steep walk up the hill, takes you to High Bradfield. A small hamlet with a magnificent Cathedral-like Church (St Nicholas) with a traditional pub with restaurant, The Old Horns Inn. Breathtaking views across the valley can be admired from High Bradfield.
There are 4 reservoirs in the immediate area Agden, Dale Dyke, Damflask and the Strines. Agden is situated immediately adjacent to our site and offers easy circular walks through the woodlands surrounding the Dam with delightful views. Dale Dyke is historically synonymous with the ‘Great Sheffield Flood’ of 1864 whilst Damflask offers opportunities for sailing, rowing, canoeing and fishing. Finally, The Strines, again offers lovely walks and magnificent views.
